| | Hodgepodge album to round up my NYC pics. Me and my sister taking turns behind and in front of the camera. |

| | Quintessential New York album-- Liberty Enlightening the World. Popularly, The Statue of Liberty. |

| | I think weather was horrible that day so Mayenne and I decided to do an indoor activity for the afternoon. We ended up at Madame Tussauds in Times Square, the queue took a while as a lot of people seemed to have the same idea. That put me in a crabby mood which explains why I didn't want to pose with the dummies.
Anyway, looking at these pictures, who's your pick for the most realistic dummy? |
Here's a funny web comic from ctrl+alt+del. It made me LOL. Really.

| | Brooklyn Bridge at dusk. Beautiful.
Idea and photo credits goes to Alex.

| | Paolo, Mayenne, and I had an AMAZING day at Coney Island! We tried the CYCLONE and it was the most exhilarating rush I've felt in a while! It was so awesome! We then hung around the boardwalk and the beach to relax, take pictures, take in the sights, and acted like we were kids again in Bulua (or Opol)
After that, we went to meet Sheila in Times Square so we could all go together to the top of Rockefeller Center (i.e. Top of the Rock). It was a cool night and it was beautiful to see NYC glow before us like that.
Thanks Paolo and Sheila for the fun day and the pictures! |

| | Random photos of me and the City. Huge thanks to Alex for being the perfect tour guide / documenter. hahahaha |
A hot tip from Sheila made Mayenne force me to take her from Washington Sq. Park (around 4th St.) all the way to 90th St. & 5th Avenue. The reason? Gossip Girl was filming on location. We arrived at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum (formerly the Andrew Carnegie Mansion) as Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Ed Westwick, and Connor Paolo were wrapping up a garden "ceremony" scene at the venue (that's Serena, Blair, Dan, Chuck, and Eric to fans of the series). Unfortunatly, the camera we brought died on us. So, we (and all of you ) would have to settle for 2 megapixel pictures from my trusty Sony Ericsson w850i. So there you go, current starsighting count: 7 (Lauren Ezersky, Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Ed Westwick, Connor Paolo , and Angie Harmon)Hahahaha who knew New York could bring out the showbiz-lover in me? Dave
| | Random captures from the first week of my New York City vacation with my sister, Mayenne. Our auntie Vicky and cousins Paolo, Tori, and Lizze took us to Central Park and the Apple Store on 5th Ave. We also went to the South St. Seaport and got lost on our way back!
Thanks to Paolo for the pictures!

| | Met up with my Multiply friend Alex to hang out at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Central Park. All photo credits go to Alex, since I rarely carry a camera with me and kudos for making me pose for pictures since I loath doing it (my friends can attest to these factoids of mine) .
It was a super fun day, and a super great way of getting to know someone. Salamat! Your bagoong is in the mail. (!)(!)

hahaha Just a teaser of me and my sister Mayenne's New York trip. This was taken on our second day in the city, at a small park in front of The Plaza. Lovely spring weather!
And yeas, more pics to come!

Finally, my tennis racquet saw some action after 2 years of gathering dust in my room! A few weeks ago, I started to pick the game up again with my instructor, Erick. The last time we played was at the Makati YMCA, but unfortunately, that has since closed and the site has now been demolished. He suggested that we try going to the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila. I checked it out and was pretty happy with it. The tennis grounds has 8 courts, costs Php 160 per hour, plus Php 100 for ball boys. Although the guards won't allow cars to enter the complex, there are ample parking spaces available at the curb or at a nearby pay parking lot.
I have since recruited two of my friends, Randy and Rosby, to learn tennis and join me in the fun (i.e. splitting the court fees hehehe). Two weeks ago, Angelo also went with us and took a few shots. (edit: more of Angelo's works here.)

hehehe
Here's something totally random but teh awesomeness nonetheless.
*ahem*
I just made Vampire Goddess on facebook's Vampires App!
That's right, 12,500 pts. through unabashedly recruiting people (i.e. family, friends, acquaintances, fellow hobbyists, and even total interweb strangers) to add the Application, and religious daily fighting and feeding sessions.
If you have facebook, feel free to enter my Vampire's lair.

| | Four days and three nights in Panglao Island, Bohol with friends. How awesome is that?
This vacation was jam-packed with activities! We arrived in Bohol Friday afternoon and immediately headed for our (ahem, budget) hotel at Alona Beach.
Day One was spent chilling and checking out places to go to. Got drunk during dinner on Long Island Iced Teas and I grew a pair and ate balut.
Day Two started with a quick swim at the beach, then off to the interiors of Bohol to follow the common tourist trail— Blood Compact site, Baclayon Church, Largest Captive Sawa in the Philippines (and its handler!), Loboc River Cruise for Lunch, Loboc Museum, laugh at the Tarsiers, through the Man-Made Forest, up the Chocolate Hills, and across a Hanging Bridge. That evening we were treated to fireworks, courtesy of a wedding party two restaurants over.
Day Three started very early. We boarded our banca at around 5am to go look for Dolphins! The local guides did not disappoint and we were treated to quite a show. (I even thought that the Dolphins enjoyed it since they were swimming really slowly and did not give off a panicked oh-my-Poseidon-we-are-going-to-die vibe.) Then it was Snorkeling at the Marine Sanctuary and brunch at an island. Some went Scuba Diving in the afternoon; I just tagged along and took pictures. We all met up at the beach afterwards to get a seaside massage. Ahh… Buffet dinner followed— the food was great, the entertainment, however, was painful. Thank Poseidon for alcohol.
Day Four was back-to-reality time. We flew back to Manila in the morning and had brunch at Ortigas before going our separate ways. Vacation time might be over, but it was just the beginning of a week of sporting a kick-ass tan!
Enjoy the pictures! We enjoyed posing for you! hahaha

Some sad(ish) news from the Tale of Fantasy Painters front. I've decided to withdraw from the online thread since I just couldn't find the time nor the drive to complete my Night Gobbo project. The above text reads as follows: Right, I think its time I officially drop out of the Tale of Fantasy Painters. I'd really love to stay and complete it but I just could not come up with the time and drive to finish my Army. So far I'm about 90% done with my 1000 pt. Night Gobbos. I kinda planned to stop at that level and take up another 1000 pt. army (Lizardmen) for the next few months. The reason behind this is that our gaming group is really just starting and up until now, 2000 pt. battles aren't what we are gunning for. Anyway, I wish everyone luck in completing your armies! Its been awesome so far. I'm still working on completing my Night Gobbos. The only thing left to do are 10 Spider Riders. I've worked at my test model and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Next step is to replicate that 9 more times and I'm finally done with Gobbos! Edit: Here are the pictures I promised! Test Model for my Spider Riders. Sorry for the crappy pictures. Stay tuned for future updates! It's gonna be a doozy! Dave My good friend Matlu recently picked up a good solid SLR camera and went serious with his photography. He always dabbled with it in the past-- then using only his camera phone, he was able to produce spectacular captures of the things around him. Now, tooled with his Canon froo-froo camera (hehe sorry!), good mentors, and general exposure to that field, he is showing real promise with the craft. The image to the left is one of my recent favorites. It is called "Still Life" and was taken during a recent trip to Taal Town with his photography buddies. I really liked the nondescript background, moody lighting, and the bright, bold table in front. Great contrast. So, what to do with a great picture? Me being into Org Dev and training, the first thing that popped to mind, aber natürlich, was to make it into a Powerpoint presentation background! :p So, in the spirit of collaboration, I asked permission from Matlu to use his picture for a Strategic Planning workshop with the Small Business Corporation (SB Corp) that me and my boss had to run. Here's what I did to his photograph: I felt that the image is appropriate since the workshop is set-up as a series of "Strategic Conversations". The pebbled-wall background serves as the foundation of SB Corp-- solid, made up of different components, and generally homogeneous. The Bright, bold table in front represents the participants' task for the next two days-- they are to come together and gather as an organization around "one table" and discuss bright, bold ideas to further strengthen mSMEs in the country today. So, as promised, here it is Matlu! What do you think? ^_^ Dave Instructions: Each player of this game starts with 6 weird things about you. People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 6 weird things as well as state the rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave a comment that says you are tagged in their comments and tell them to read your blog. 1. I hate walking behind people. I even crafted a strategy to overtake them in crowded places.
2. I love ketchup with anything fried-- chicken, beef, pork, fish, veggies. If it was deep cooked in oil, it is ketchup ready.
3. I only drive cars. No SUV's, vans, trucks, etc.
4. I'm very flexible. Without even trying.
5. I'm very brand loyal-- from toothpaste to clothes, restaurants to phones. If I like something, it'll be pretty hard to convince me to try the alternate.
6. I don't know how to swim. Even though I grew up with a pool at the house, lived 15 mins. away from the beach, and have stayed and is staying at a condominium with a pool.
Your turn. I tag Edward, Angelo, Hazel, Borj, Mac, and Paolo! You read it right! For some unknown reason, Multiply has been unblocked at the office! Big Yay! So, to celebrate this wondrous occasion (hehehe) I decided to rummage through my hard drive and look for things to post. Happily, I came across various pictures of my nights out with work colleagues Jazzie, Ron, and Tinggot. The four of us really bonded when we served as Liaison Officers during the ASEAN Economic Ministers' (AEM) Meeting last year. Anyway, on to the pics! This was our first post-AEM dinner get-together. Jazzie brought her Umberto and the five of us went to Ebun at Greenbelt 3 for reasons that escape me now. Was it the location? Or was it somebody's favorite? I forget. Well, it didn't really turn out to be a perfect night for us at the resto. The waiter failed to take note of our order and poor Jazzie had to wait quite a while for a measly bowl of soup! Also, since we knew that Ebun and Kitchen have the same owner, we placed some of our orders at the other restaurant. What we failed to consider was that since we were ordering from two restos, we would get billed twice for the Service Charge! Yes, that makes it plus 20% for SC alone. Haaay... Next up, we decided to check out a gig at mag:net, Bonifacio High Street. Barney Blue Sky was playing, a band composed of my College friend Jacqui (who is also Jazzie's Grad School classmate), and Jazzie's Umberto. Unfortunately Ron and Tinggot couldn't make it, so it was just the two of us plus two other friends. The bands were rocking pretty hard and we stayed the entire set, which ended around 2am I think (on a Thursday night mind you!). The first picture was taken after the band had performed. I'm pretty bad with names so I couldn't name them all for you. The second picture is just of us goofing-off in front of the bar's "art wall". Those are photographs of different rags set on different backgrounds. It took some of us quite a while to recognize it for what it was, some just assumed it was something abstract. All in all it was a really great evening. It was fun seeing Jacqui again and even more fun watching her sing on stage with a band! Up until that night I've always associated her more as a ballerina than anything else, now I should change my paradigm and add rocker chick to that! hehehe I know our friend Ivy would be so proud! hahahahaha! Our most recent night out was a pre-Valentine's Day picnic dinner at Jaime Velasquez Park (aka. Salcedo Park) in Makati City. We enjoyed this with a few other friends, mostly from the DTI as well. Jazzie prepared a kickin' spaghetti pesto (in two variants-- cream and oil!), Ron baked yummy cookies, I brought cheese (gouda, blue, and something orange-yellow and hard), Tinggot, Monica and the rest of the SME-PMO provided the wine, bread, roasted chicken, and chicken pastel (which was soo good!) It was amusing to people-watch in the park, and we definitely saw some characterful individuals then. The evening was full of laughs, music, and food-- a great combination if you ask me. Till next time guys! Left to Right: Jazzie, Maricor, Ron, Me, Tinggot, Monica Dave
| | Me and 3 of my besties went to beautiful Dakak Resort in Dipolog after New Year's Day. We took the crazier route and actually went by land from CDO to Dipolog, a good 7-hr drive through 5 provinces! It was super fun though, car windows rolled-down, iPod blasting some sick alt rock tunes, and friends who supply you with endless jokes (and distractions-- much to Cheetara's chagrin mwahahaha).
Here we were. Dakaking it up.
